    Hello from Giles & Shamus

Just a quick update on Giles & Shamus. They were adopted December 12/09 and many thanks to Larry Rich for taking them the first leg of their 20 hour journey to their new home. What wonderful travelers they were. I'm not sure of what the weather in Colorado was like at that time but the temp in Alberta was -35C. Not the kind of weather the boys liked. It took a couple of months of gentle coaxing to get them to voluntarily go outside to do their business. Thank goodness for potty pads. The boys have settled in and very happy and healthy. Giles is the biggest one for cuddling and has managed to work his way into our bed some nights. Shamus is still timid but loves to cuddle by my side in the evenings. He loves his kennel and soft blankets at night and never makes a sound. Giles has learned to play with his toys but we have yet to see Shamus have anything to do with them. One thing Shamus loves is to run as hard and as fast as he can around the yard. Giles makes us laugh when he gets excited and spins in circles with his tail tucked and those long legs. He too loves to run around the yard. His new brother Smokey (my first Iggy) broke his front leg in April when Giles "hip checked" him as he landed while catching his ball. We will have to be very careful when all 4 dogs are out in the yard together after this episode. I have attached a photo of all 4 boys.
Thank you Theresa for these two lovely gifts.

    Dear 3iggys,

Thank-you so very much for sharing! We love to hear all about our rescue boys and girls coming out of their shells. Take good care of those little doggie-legs.

    Wait a minute...

    Shouldn't your name be 3iggysandafluffball?

It's so good to see Giles and Shamus again. It always broke my heart to see them at the kennel. Thank you for giving them a good home. I'm really sorry to hear about Smokey. Is he doing OK now? A broken leg with an IG is really scary. Your gang look very content. We have a dog that looks exactly like your fuzzy one! His name is Rocky, we think he's half Chinese Crested and half poodle... a puppy mill mistake if ever there was one!

Thanks for updating us. Keep us in the loop.
Lily's dad, I'll miss her forever.

Smokey is doing as well as can be expected. Like all IGs you can't keep a good dog down ( or still for that matter). Xrays show bones are still broke but are healing - very slowly - and will be about another 16 weeks before I can finally have a good nights sleep.

Thank you for your concern Rick. Will keep you updated.
